Oh, I know just what you mean, Christine! A trip on the Manly ferry still does it for me, and I can’t ever remember looking forward to my morning commute the way I did crossing from Neutral Bay in front of the emerging sails of the Opera House. I love punts, too – any way of crossing the water in an every day sort of way, but the best of all have to be the traghettos of Venice – or perhaps the little canoes they ride in the same standing manner, in the backwaters of Kerala.
now you are tempting me again … i have not experienced the traghettos or the little canoes of Kerala …. hhmmm, dreams!
Ummm …. dreams are a necessity – well, plans, anyway, and dreams lead to plans 🙂
Me too, like bridges they create connections.
good point 🙂 i like that you are not anywhere on a ferry, you are in between 😉
